I had planned to update today with pictures showing how the construction is going. Instead, I want to take just a moment and say a prayer.
Early today, Chad Bowman of Tampa Fl. died. He was diagnosed with als in February of this year. Als can move fast or slow depending on the person. In Chad's case it moved very fast.
I was told his death was peaceful and painless. He died holding his fiances hand and simply went to sleep.
Chad was 34 years old and I considered him a friend.

Will is my chef for breakfast when he stays the weekend. He can make a pretty wicked omlet when he's got the right motivation.

   Happy Birthday Sarah!
Got to go visit my Mom and family for the last few day. We had a wonderful visit, one of the best we've had in ages. Spent several days together and got to see the newest member of the family. Cory and Becca- you done right well!
Finally got by to visit with David Q and his wife Deb. Seems like everytime I've tried to get up to Dave's something has happened. Almost did this time. Joan got to feeling bad. I just called up Chris and Tamara and they came and got me. Thanks you two.
Dave. enjoyed the vist. Catch you again soon I hope.

There's nothing like kids and grandkids to make the day. We went outside and had a blast. Good thing to take my mind off the fall I took last night. No real damage done when I fell but shook Joan and I both up.

Carolyn and Sarah came over today and helped us toward getting the house ready. They did a great job installing shelves and doing some badly needed clean up. Thanks to both of you very much.

I was nominated and voted onto the ALS Association Board of Directors tonight. I feel honored and will use this position to fight ALS with all of strength. Please help me with your prayers and your support. The alsa helps a lot of als patients with equipment and clinics. The wheelchair that I use was from the alsa "loaner" closet and is mine to use at no charge.  This equipment is available to all als patients regarless of income. Please check out how you can help by going to the main page and clicking on "how can I help fight als.

Here come the troops from West Virginia. Randy, Chris, Tamara and Mom came up this weekend to help finish the outside building and move some of the stuff out of the house.
Carolyn and Joan packed until late in the evening but we got a lot of stuff ready.
Thanks to all of the people who are volunteering their time, skills and energy to help Joan and I prepare for the future.
